15,000 Gather for CeCe Winans’ ‘More Than This’ Concert at King’s House

Kingston, Jamaica — On August 1, Emancipation Day, internationally acclaimed gospel singer CeCe Winans brought her More Than This Caribbean Tour to a soaring conclusion in Jamaica with a night of praise that, according to many, left a lasting spiritual impact on patrons.

Held on the East Lawn of King’s House in St. Andrew, the event drew an estimated 15,000 worshippers, creating a reverent atmosphere of faith, unity, and music. The evening also included a special moment of recognition, as Kingston’s Mayor Andrew Swaby presented Winans with the Key to the City, honoring her decades-long influence on gospel music and her contribution to Christian ministry worldwide.

The event, organized by Come Alive Collective, came just one day after Winans ministered on the Trinidadian leg of the tour on July 31, Known for her timeless voice, the 17-time Grammy Award-winning artist led the crowd in worship, performing some of her most beloved songs including “Goodness of God,” a standout track from her Grammy-winning album Believe For It.

One attendee described the event as “one of the greatest Gospel shows on earth!” That sentiment echoed throughout the night, as the gathering took on the feel of a spiritual revival more than a typical concert.

Opening for Winans were some of Jamaica’s top gospel acts, each bringing their unique anointing to the stage. Kevin Downswell, known for blending deep worship with high energy music, stirred the audience with his commanding stage presence and hits like “If It’s Not You” and “God is Moving.”

Chevelle Franklyn, a veteran voice in both local and international gospel circles, delivered a powerful set that demonstrated why she remains a pillar in Jamaican gospel music.

Trending gospel artiste Prince Saj, best known for his bold anthem “Fully Jesus,” ignited the stage with sharp lyricism and a unforgettable performance that set the tone for the evening. He was later joined by Johnmark Wiggan for a live rendition of their collaborative track “Nobody Nuh More Dan Wi,” which had the crowd singing in unison.

Wiggan had already energized the crowd earlier in the evening with a vibrant solo set, kickstarting the momentum with his dynamic stage presence and infectious energy that had the audience clapping, moving, and fully engaged.

Also gracing the stage were gospel band, HUMBLE and Jamaica Gospel Star 2025 finalists, Donielle Anderson, Joraine Welsh, Raechel Benjamin, and winner, Raheim Betty.

Along with being a memorable concert filled with talented gospel entertainers, More Than This will be donating all net proceeds to support charitable causes, including the Governor-General Programme for Excellence, Open Door Jamaica Foundation, Yale Home for Children, and other community initiatives.

Winans’ More Than This Tour continues on August 7 in Kansas City, Missouri, before heading to South Africa for a series of performances. The tour will then return to North America with upcoming stops in Texas, California, and Hawaii.
