Do It For God
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
— Galatians 6:9
There are moments in life when everything feels heavy.
Moments when you’re tired of trying. Tired of choosing right. Tired of thinking pure thoughts, walking the narrow road, and doing the “good” thing when you’d prefer to do the absolute opposite.
You grow weary in well-doing. You become faint of heart. And for a while, it honestly feels like none of it is worth it anymore. In those moments, righteousness feels inconvenient. Obedience feels expensive. God’s way feels slower, harder, and far less rewarding than every other option on the table.
But then—after the emotions settle—you always come back to the same truth; God has never let you down and He still knows exactly what He’s doing.
You see, if there’s one things that’s true, it’s that doing things God’s way is always worth it, even when it feels like it’s not. So when you don’t feel like trying anymore, do it for God. When you’re tempted to fall back into sin because you’re tired of resisting, decide against it, for God.
When your job feels draining, unfulfilling, or beneath you, yet you know in your spirit that this is where you’re meant to be for this season, don’t give up; do it for God. When someone gets on your nerves and every part of you wants to lash out, snap back, or step out of character, pause and choose wisdom; do it for God.
Not because it’s easy. Not because it feels good in the moment. But because you trust the One who sees what you don’t.
God is a rewarder. He rewards righteousness, obedience and the private decisions no one sees you make. He rewards with peace; the kind that settles your soul. He rewards with provision; the kind that reminds you He is your source. He rewards with purpose; the kind that makes the struggle make sense in hindsight.
He causes you to prosper, not just materially, but inwardly, because you chose His way over your own. And when all else fails… When motivation runs dry and you don’t see the point anymore, still choose to do it for God.
You won’t regret it.
Prayer
Lord, I’m tired, but I choose Your way. Give me strength to remain faithful when it feels hard. I trust that You see me, and I will continue to dedicate my life to the path of righteousness because You are worth it and You will never fail me. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
Reflection
Where in your life have you grown weary of doing the right thing?
What decision feels hardest to keep surrendering to God?
