Olympic Champion Noah Lyles and Fiancée Junelle Bromfield Get Baptized

In a deeply personal and public step of faith, American Olympic champion Noah Lyles and his fiancée, Jamaican sprinter Junelle Bromfield, were baptized together on Sunday, announcing their decision on social media with the scripture Joshua 24:15 whish says, “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

The couple posted a video from the baptism, marking a new chapter in their walk with Christ.

Although Lyles had been baptized previously, this was Bromfield’s first baptism; a decision she said she made after much prayer.

In an interview with The Gleaner, Bromfield shared: “Noah has always been a Christian and he has baptized before. I had never been baptized until today because I wanted to do it when I was ready and not out of fear. Many times I have gone to the altar but never committed because I felt like I was doing it for the wrong reasons.”

This moment also comes fresh off Lyles’ success at the 2025 World Athletics Championships, where he clinched his fourth consecutive men’s 200m world title, earned bronze in the 100m, and anchored Team USA to gold in the 4×100m relay.

Bromfield has represented Jamaica on the international stage in the 400m and 4×400m relay, where she earned a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a silver medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, in the relays.
